Stewart's to team up with customers for 'Holiday Match!' | Business

Stewart’s Shops are once again teaming up with their customers for the 25th annual Holiday Match.

Last year’s Holiday Match! resulted in $640,000 in customer donations for a total of $1.28 million. According to Stewart’s Shops, the company has donated almost $15 million to local children’s organizations since 1986.

From Thanksgiving Day through Christmas Day, Stewart’s Shops will match individual donations to the Holiday Match! program in stores throughout New York and Vermont. The goal this year is to encourage individual giving and broaden the base of support for local charities.

In Cohoes, Stewart's is located at 94 Columbia Street.

All donations are tax deductible and Stewart’s will gladly accept donations from groups and businesses, but will only match individual donations. Local children’s charities can pick up an application at any Stewart’s Shop. Groups that apply must be locally based and support children 18 and under. They must also be a qualified, charitable 501c3 organization.

The deadline for submission will be Jan. 31, 2012.
