Stewart's Holiday Match money sent to non-profit organizations | Community Spirit
The Stewart’s Holiday Match Grant checks have been mailed to non-profit organizations who will be receiving the Stewart’s Holiday Match funds.
The money was given by customers and the company and it will help local children’s charities in the 30 counties where there are Stewart’s locations. The 1,455 checks total in $1.4 million in grants. Stewart’s credits the success of the program to their customers, dedicated shop partners and media partners.
“That is a 3 percent increase in the number of Holiday Match grants, compared to last year,” said Susan Dake, Stewart’s Foundation President in a statement. “Thanks to the generosity of our customers, in this flat economy, we were able to respond to the additional requests and bring the total to over $16 million in contributions for the 25 year old program.”
According to a statement, Stewart’s has maintained their annual budget of $2,250,000 for charitable contributions in 2012, which includes the company’s $700,000 in matching funds for Holiday Match. A brochure listing the recipient charities will soon be available in shops and by clicking here.
