Bikers ride to honor missing children | Community Spirit

Bicyclists will be pedaling across the Capital Region for the Ride for Missing Children today. The event is taking place on behalf of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
The ride is to honor the memory of all missing children, raise public awareness of the light of all missing and exploited children as well as the need for child safety education, and the raise money to support the missing children poster distribution and mission of NCMEC.
The ride will span across 100 miles of the Capital District Region where riders will visit local schools to bring the message of child safety and abduction prevention.
The ride kicked off at 6:30 a.m. this morning at the University at Albany Recreational Center in Albany and the ride will end above the State Museum at 5:52 p.m. Along their route the riders will visit Lincoln Elementary, Milton Terrace Elementary, Mechanicville Elementary, Waterford Community Center, Tamarac Elementary, and the East Greenbush YMCA.
