City notifies residents of hydrant flushing | Environment

The City of Cohoes is notifying residents that it will be flushing hydrants between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday, April 24 through Friday, May 13.

The city says residents may notice some discoloration in the water and should be aware that this is normal and not harmful.

However, residents are cautioned to check their water before using automatic washers during and immediately after this time.

Washing of laundry is not recommended during these hours.
