ALBANY - Four people are under arrest, accused of selling drugs at a methadone treatment clinic. The alleged sale took place at the Whitney Young Jr. Health Center in Albany. The investigation began after receiving a tip on the Whistle Blowers Hotline.
The sheriff said that three out of the four people arrested were clients at the methadone clinic and investigators got started on the case after they heard from Albany County Comptroller Michael Conners who got a tip on the Whistle Blowers Hotline.
That tip, was that several people were getting methadone and selling it along with other illegal drugs at the Whitney Young Jr. Health Center. Under cover investigators went to the clinic three different times, and they say they bought drugs from people loitering around outside.
Fifty-four-year-old Elaena Fred of Watervliet and 21-year-old Crystal Roldan of Cohoes are accused of selling Xanax pills. Both are in jail on $1,000 bail.
Authorities say the most disturbing case involves 21-year-old Brittany Gregory of Hudson Falls. Gregory is accused of selling heroine to a police informant. Investigators say when she was selling illegal drugs, she had her newborn daughter with her.
Authorities say the baby was turned over to a family member who was waiting nearby with Gregory’s three-year-old son. She is now in the Albany County Jail without bail.
