Survey shows slight decline in real estate pessimism

ALBANY- New Yorkers' pessimistic outlook on the housing market is slowly improving.
    
The Siena Research Institute released its quarterly survey on real estate sentiment Thursday morning.
    
It finds that although the sales are still down, homeowners are feeling that property values are starting to creep up.
    
There was improvement in upstate New York, but not much change in New York City.

Meeting for first time buyers this weekend

The Albany County Rural Housing Alliance, Inc. is holding a First Time Buyer Education course this weekend.

The course is taking place  from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Green Island Municipal Center on 18 George St.

City hosts Choose Cohoes Sunday

Cohoes believes it is just the place new or moving manufacturers and businesses are looking for.

The city is hosting what they're calling a Choose Cohoes open house on Sunday.

City hosts property event

The City of Cohoes is hosting an event designed to showcase vacant buildings for prospective business tenants.

Choose Cohoes will highlight selected properties that are available for rent or sale for those looking to start their own business or for those interested in relocating or expanding their business to downtown Cohoes. 

Harmony House Marketplace receives $25,000 grant

Harmony House Marketplace was presented with a $25,000 Main Street Grant by National Grid for supporting local communities and businesses.

The grant will be used to partially offset the cost for the construction of gas and electric facilities to the new residential and commercial space in the historic downtown area.
