Albany County to kick off traffic safety awareness weekend

GUILDERLAND - The 27th Annual Albany County Traffic Safety Awareness Weekend is on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25 at Crossgates Mall. Experts will be on hand to teach safe travel practices that can prevent injuries and deaths due to traffic crashes.

On Saturday, September 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a child safety seat check in the overflow parking lot on the Washington Ave. Ext side of the mall near the JC Penny store. Approximately 90 percent of child safety seats are improperly used. Children can also be measured to see if they need to ride in a booster seat.  Seat safety reduces the possibility of serious injury in a crash and helps to develop a lifelong safety habit.
